Energy management
With a combination of flexible switching control and comprehensive monitoring including accurate energy measurement, the Telensa system is an ideal platform for effective management of energy consumption for a whole lighting population.
Energy consumption measurement
Crucial to the ability of managing energy consumption effectively, is the ability to measure it. With a metering chip in each telecell the Telensa system provides accurate measurement of true energy consumption down to the level of each individual lamp. Reports of energy consumption for any filtered set of lamps over any period can be produced.Energy reduction
Using the system, energy reducing lighting policies can be introduced such as:- switching selected lights off in the middle of the night, referred to as "part night" or "lighting curfew".
- dimming in the middle of the night period, or dimming relating to traffic volumes on traffic routes, or according to weather conditions.
- fine tuning of switch on/off times to meet lighting standards' requirements accurately and avoid wasted burning hours, referred to as "trimming".
- preventing fixtures such as signs and bollards burning 24 hours a day, by fitting telecells and programming them to switch at appropriate times.
