Smart City Firm Named Growing Business of the Year at Prestigious Awards

Cambridge, UK – 30 November 2017 – Telensa, the global leader in connected street lighting and Smart City applications, today announced that it has been named as Growing Business of the Year with a turnover between £10m-£25m at the Amazon Growing Business Awards 2017, at an awards ceremony held on Wednesday 29th November in London.

Telensa wins Amazon Growing Business Award With well over a million lights connected around the world, this year the company turned a profit of £3M on revenues of £23m. Telensa’s revenues have grown by 90% since 2016, and are 3x those reported for 2015.

Telensa’s smart streetlight system pays for itself in reduced energy and maintenance costs, improves quality of service through automatic fault reporting, and enables LED streetlight output to be dynamically controlled. And the streetpole-based wireless network allows multiple sensor applications to realise the potential of the data-driven city.
