Connecting a Safer, Smarter Tomorrow.

YPO selects Telensa for smart street lighting in new 4-year framework agreement

Telensa has been awarded preferred supplier status by the public sector procurement body, YPO. The announcement comes amidst the launch of YPO’s newest framework agreement for the supply of connected street lighting, Central Management Systems (CMS) and wireless controls. The 4-year framework agreement is the result of a quality-driven, value-for-money procurement process providing YPO’s customers with access to the latest streetlighting technologies. Telensa PLANet® is a best-in-class CMS-controlled lighting infrastructure with over 1 million lights connected in the UK alone.

Publicly owned by 13 local authorities, YPO supplies to a wide range of customers and has been setting up framework agreements for almost 50 years.

Kath Johnson, Category Buyer – Highways, YPO said “It’s been a pleasure to work with Telensa on the last two frameworks and we’re looking forward to being able to help our customers with their CMS requirements over the next four years via the new YPO 1027 Street Lighting Products and Services Framework Agreement.”

Telensa has a proven track record of deploying CMS-controlled street lighting in the UK with 33 councils having deployed Telensa’s market leading CMS, PLANet®. Amongst these 33 UK councils, Telensa provides services to Sheffield, Doncaster, Essex, Hertfordshire, Swindon, and Edinburgh Councils.

“Telensa is delighted to have been selected as part of the YPO connected street lighting framework agreement. The business case is clear for local authorities making the move to LED to add in wireless controls and a CMS as part of their deployment. We look forward to introducing YPO’s customers to the significant energy and cost savings that go with PLANet, our CMS and connected street lighting solution.” says Brent Hudson, CEO, Telensa.
