Cambridge, UK – 11 December 2019 Telensa, the world number 1 in smart street lighting and smart city data applications, today announced that Brent Hudson has been appointed as CEO, replacing Will Franks who steps down due to ill health. The result of careful succession planning, Brent brings vital experience and expertise to lead Telensa in the next phase of its growth strategy. Brent is an experienced CEO, having driven growth at a number of innovative UK and US technology companies including Travel Information Systems (QinetiQ), Tality and Sagentia Group.
“Brent has significant public sector, utilities and IoT leadership experience, and has driven the development of several growth-stage Cambridge tech companies into large scale enterprises,” said Martin McNair, Chairman of Telensa. “In particular, his extensive global experience in negotiating strategic deals, working with some of the world’s largest technology companies, makes Brent the perfect choice to lead Telensa. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Will for his hard work and dedicated service which has been instrumental in growing Telensa to become the category leader in the smart city market.”
“I’m excited to be joining Telensa at a pivotal moment, as we accelerate the growth of our global smart city business, working with key partners like Samsung and Microsoft,” said Brent Hudson, Telensa CEO. “With a global footprint of 1.8 million streetlights controlled by our smart technology, Telensa provides a unique foundation enabling cities to enjoy the benefits of becoming data-driven.”
