Telensa Ranked 4th in Sunday Times Lloyds SME Export Track 100

Smart City Technology Firm Recognised among Top UK Exporters Following Rapid Global Growth

**Cambridge, 26th February 2018** – Telensa, the global leader in connected street lighting and Smart City applications, has been ranked 4th in the annual Sunday Times Lloyds SME Export Track 100 which ranks Britain’s 100 small and medium-sized (SME) companies with the fastest-growing international sales over the latest two years. The list is compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times each February, with an awards dinner in May.

This accolade follows the company’s recent expansion into the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Latin America, building on success in Europe and the US. In addition, Telensa is behind the world’s largest smart streetlighting deployment in the US State of Georgia, and has been awarded significant new city and regional projects over the last year, the latest being in the New Zealand capital, Wellington. The company’s revenues have grown by 90% since 2016, and are 3 times those reported for 2015.

Telensa’s smart streetlight system pays for itself in reduced energy and maintenance costs, improves quality of service through automatic fault reporting, and enables LED streetlight output to be dynamically controlled. And the streetpole-based wireless network allows multiple sensor applications to realise the potential of the data-driven city.

“We are delighted to have ranked so highly in the SME Export Track 100. This award reflects our exceptional growth in recent years, as the world wakes up to the potential of connected streetlights and the follow-on benefits of smart city applications,” said Will Franks, CEO of Telensa. “Our Cambridge-based company has grown into a global smart city infrastructure player, with deployments around the globe, including the world’s largest. With our building momentum and product innovation, the sky is the limit for Telensa’s continued growth and profitability.”

The full results were published in a special four-page supplement within the Business section of The Sunday Times on 25th February, both in print and online.
